Fig Jam

Discover the rich, sweet allure of homemade fig jam, a simple four-ingredient treat that brings the essence of ripe figs into every bite. Whether you're spreading it on bread, making a homemade charcuterie board, or making some fig newtons, this recipe is good for it all.

Ingredients:

5 cups of fresh figs, washed and cut into quarters

1/4 cup apple sauce

1/2 cup raw honey

1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

  1. After washing and chopping into quarters the figs, add all the ingredients together in a large, deep pan on medium heat. The more surface area for the figs to meet the heat the better.

  2. Stir occasionally until the skin of the figs are soft and mushy

  3. Remove from heat and let it cool for 5-10 minutes

  4. Pour mixture into a blender and blend until it reaches your desired smoothness

  5. Pour blended mixture back into the pan and return to medium heat

  6. Continue to stir until the mixture becomes thick

  7. Remove from heat again and let cool for 10 minutes

  8. Jar and store in the fridge. Can last for several months!

This recipe can make around, if not more than 40oz!
